ABOUT YOUR HOSTS Bela and Chris Johnson spent most of their lives in the state of Maine, living on beautiful Goose Pond situated in a lakes region forty minutes’ drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Several years ago, they spent two years on the rural island of Moloka’i where they operated a small-scale vacation rental. A love of nature and quiet spaces led them more recently to settle in this special region of North Kohala. Bela is also a published writer, and her hobbies include swimming, bicycling, and home and interior design. Chris Johnson has spent most of his working life as a homebuilder and craftsman. His love of practical yet elegant design has contributed to several unique home renovation projects. In his spare time, he enjoys boogie boarding, snorkeling, bicycling, and working creatively with wood. Chris has been a professional jeweler and picture framer as well, but mostly enjoys working with his hands in the medium of wood. Both Chris and Bela welcome you with Big Island aloha! If you wish to bring younger family members, you may do so by booking both the upstairs as well as the downstairs units for your stay. However peace and quiet are still what we offer, and children must occupy the downstairs suite with adults only upstairs, please (for safety reasons).
